How Italians buy wine

The majority of Northern Italians buy their wine from local cantina’s in the area. We have about 2 or 3 that we continuously go to to get wine.

Agriturismo Le Mesine

Do you know what an Agriturismo is? An Agriturismo is similar to a restaurant; the only difference is its usually situated on land, or a farm. And the food that you eat is from the land or Farm. Everything on the farm gets incorporated into the dish. Let me tell you, theres nothing like eating fresh food!

Yesterday, we went to my FAVORITE Agriturisimo in Valdobbiadine aka Prosecco Hills.. You do know what Prosecco is, right? I hope you have tried it too, if not leave me a comment in the section below and I will see if I can send you a bottle of it.

Anyhow, back to Le Mesine. I simply adore Le Mesine. Amazing food, Fatto in casa ( homemade) and affordable and great service. What more could you ask for?

One thing to keep in mind, most of the Agriturismo’s don’t use menu’s because they make only certain dishes daily. So, the waitress or waiter will read you what the Chef has decided for the day. Don’t worry, if you don’t speak Italian, usually someone will speak English well at least Le Mesine, they do 🙂 And they are usually open only on weekends. Just another little tip, you may want to call in advance for reservations because they fill up quick.

A cappuccino after lunch? Why of course! Must be the American in me. Italians usually will have an espresso with grappa.

If you are in the Province di Treviso and want to eat local venetian food, go to an agriturismo, you won’t be disappointed.

I highly recommend going to Le Mesine!
