Happy Friday friends!!
Any plans for the weekend?
There’s a lot of events going on in Treviso this weekend.
Elvis days is one of the main events along the “mura” ( wall) from today until Sunday. It’s a big American event, celebrating any and everything America. Live rockabilly music, stands, food and of course beer.
And I learned last night while out to dinner with family and friends that my husband started it over ten years ago. What a humble man as he never told me. Haha!
I plan to go today or maybe Saturday when all the classic cars will be there. Quite a site to see, 1950’s, 60’s classics in the heart of Treviso. I plan on doing an article on it.
What are your plans for the weekend?
Would love to hear.
I adore all of the festivals throughout the year in Italy.. One of my favorites of all times is the Carnevale which is held in Venice. Living 30 minutes away from the city of water is wonderful;however, this year I wasn’t able to make it..
I can’t imagine being in Venice with up to 100.000 people walking around, while I would be pushing my 19 month old around. No way could it be possible. Besides, i am not a fan of big crowds, I am very claustrophobic person.
A dear friend of mine did go to Venice and she took amazingly beautiful photos that I want to share with you.
Her name is Antonella Loschi and she is NOT a professional photographer but you couldn’t tell that by looking over her photos! She has a way with her camera. I am a BIG fan of her work.
“Photography is my passion, and I like taking pictures of Treviso which is my hometown and of Venice, which is a world apart and where I go as often as I can”
When she isn’t taking photos, she is teaching French at a hotel and restaurant vocational school.
Antonella was kind enough to let me show you all her photographs of the Carnival. So, thank you so much Antonella.
This past weekend over 100,000 visitors came to see Treviso celebrating the festival of flowers.
Around every piazza, every hidden corner , along the mura (wall), along the cobblestone roads you’ll see flowers galore.
In my personal opinion flowers have a way to make life itself a bit brighter. I hope this is a start to a new tradition in my charming and quaint city that I simply adore.
I can not take credit for the above photos.
