In the evening, throughout Veneto, if not Italy it’s usual to have a liquor to help you digest after dinner.. Either with un caffe or alone. In Veneto, it’s normal to have grappa, amaro or an herb infused liquor that is usually made at home. Quite potent, if you ask me.

I think many of you have heard of me talking about my neighbor, Vittorio, who is a single father of two beautiful young ladies. He has a rather large country home with a lovely veggie garden. By day he is a bus driver for the city of Treviso. I keep telling him he should write a cookbook but he’s a simple man and thinks my ideas are silly. Haha!
