I wanted to share with you all a traditional Italian cake recipe. No measuring cups or teaspoons are required and it is quite normal that the Italians don’t use an electrical mixer and everything is ”un po” and ”quanto basta”
You will measure the ingredients with a yogurt cup which equals 125ml or 1/2 cup after being emptied which you will use the yogurt in the recipe as well and will be filled with flour, sugar, oil for a total number of seven times. Thus the name ” Torta sette vasetti”
It is a perfect cake for the traditional Italian Breakfast, light and soft.
Ok this is called Torta sette (7) vasetti!!
Ingredients
1 vasetti = 125 ml = 1/2 cup
3 eggs
2 vasetti of white sugar

1 vasetti Of oil ( I used olive oil)
16 grams of baking powder with vanilla flavoring.
Lemon zest of 1 lemon.

Powdered sugar
Serving size 6-8 people
25 minutes to prepare and 35 minutes to bake. Total time from start to finish is 1 hour.
Please follow the photo by photo, step by step directions on how to make this delicious torta.

Ingredients

Put 3 eggs in the bowl
Wash and use plastic yogurt cup which is called “vasetti” in ItalianWash and use plastic yogurt cup which is called “vasetti” in Italian

Wash and use the plastic yogurt cup which in Italian is called ”vasetti”.

Add 2 vasetti of white sugar and mix.

One of the great things about this recipe is you don’t need an electrical mixer, a wire whisk works best.

Add 1 vasetti of yogurt. I used lemon flavor. And lemon zest.

Add 1 vasetti of oil. I used Olive oil.

Mix it up

Add 16 grams of baking powder with vanilla flavoring.

Add 3 vasetti of All purpose flour and mix

Pour batter in a lightly oiled or buttered cake pan. I used olive oil to grease the pan. Bake at 180 degrees C for 30 to 35 minutes.

Remove from oven when golden brown like so and toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Once it is completley cool, transfer onto a plate and sprinkle it with powdered sugar.

Enjoy with a glass of Prosecco after dinner or with a coffee or milk for breakfast.

Delicious. Not too sweet and perfect for an authentic Italian breakfast or dessert.
